For decades New Yorker’s have descended on Coney Island to stay cool and escape the summer heat. Take a look at how New York’s favorite resort has change over the years.

Below, in 2010, Luna Park re-opens in Brooklyn as it replaces the old Coney Island park as the premiere fun park on the Brooklyn shore.
